New Team Member, Business Sales Manager Yman

I’m Emmanuel Obiedo, but people call me Yman. I am currently working as a Business Sales Manager for one of the Synacy group companies. I am in charge of developing the sales team and maintaining the team’s goals and performance through motivation, counseling, skills development and product knowledge development.

I have build up my career in sales for more than a decade and although it may be more than enough time for me to become an expert, I still have a lot to learn. My greatest achievement in my career as a business development executive was closing three accounts for the company. This was an achievement as well for the company since these were expanding accounts. A greater opportunity came, however, which was very favorable to me. Right then and there I decided to move to Synacy in spite of the achievements I had with my previous company.

I heard about Synacy through my colleagues and we were able to meet Rhett Jones, the company’s CEO. When we were told about Synacy, I knew it was a startup company so I did not expect too much. When I first entered its office, the work environment was very cool and relaxed. I love the environment at Synacy where people can interact freely with the decision makers. You are able to think out-of-the-box. You are not confined into a work environment where you are told what to do and what you should not do, unlike in my previous jobs. In Synacy, your opinions count. I can do whatever I want with our team as long as we don’t cross any boundaries.

Synacy is a stable and sturdy company and it definitely has the potential for growth and development. The management clearly created a pathway leading to the company’s success. There is always a challenge everywhere in every business especially in startups, and since it is the first time for Synacy to build its sales department here, my challenge is to see where the boat is heading and take it from there.

As for my personal growth, being a new father compelled me to be more driven and motivated in my work. Fatherhood gave me a whole new perspective in life.
